In a ceremony attended by government and business leaders, educators, and community organizers, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley presented Dr. Anghesom Atsbaha with the 2010 Kathy Osterman Award for Superior Public Service.

The site of Israel’s leading newspaper Yediot Aharonot reported today that Prime Minister Netanyahu is considering offering African leaders millions of dollars in exchange for their acceptance of deported African asylum seekers who have entered Israel. Such a plan was proposed back in 2008 and was never carried out.

Eritrean National Commission for Democratic Change (ENCDC) is planning to hold public meetings in various cities worldwide in the coming weeks.   ENCDC North America will convene public meetings in Los Angeles, Oakland, and Washington DC on Oct. 9, Oct. 16 and Oct 23, 2010 respectively.  

The euphoria of the Addis conference has come and gone. To the observer, its aftermath seems to have left more questions than answers. We have seen the cherry picking of the representatives to the conference.
